Most people don’t know this, but these connectors can make you sound like C1 even if you’re still B1.

Stop repeating “mais” or “du coup”. Use these instead:
- de plus / en outre / par ailleurs = moreover, in addition
- par contre / en revanche = on the other hand
- par exemple / notamment = for example, notably
- alors / par conséquent = therefore, as a result
- pour finir = to finish
- en somme / en définitive = in short

Phonetic reminder
- Final E, S, T are silent: say NOTAMAN, PAR CONSéKAN, AN DÉFINITIV (not définitivé), AN REVANSH.
- With vowel + ILL + vowel, don’t pronounce the L.
Example: par ailleurs = /PARAYEUR/ (and remember, the final S is silent).
